Your Investment

To begin your Custom Group Adventure with us, we require a non-refundable $5000 travel design fee. This fee will be credited toward your final trip payment.

+ Why should I consider running a Custom Group Adventure?

Group adventures can be an incredible space for people to come together to connect with one another and themselves, engage with the world around them, and experience deep and lasting transformations in a supportive group environment.

+ Who do you work with? Who are your clients?

We work with any group or community of people looking for a handcrafted selection of immersive, exciting, and breath-taking adventures and experiences. Sound like you? We thought so.

+ What does a typical adventure or retreat look like?

Our itineraries blend the “outer journey” (activities, excursions), with the “inner journey” (wellness, movement, content sessions). You’ll see the sights, dine like a local, immerse in culture, while also having tailor made experiences that fit your group and your passions.

With some very limited exceptions, all of the adventures we plan have several things in common:

  • Outdoor, nature-based activities (ex: hiking, biking)
  • Cultural immersion
  • Culinary experiences
  • Time for group conversations or content delivery
  • Free time to relax, wander, and explore

+ How much does a CGA cost?

Pricing can vary depending on destination, time of year, group size, type of accommodation, and type of experiences, but most of our GARs start around $5000/pp and include:

  • All land costs for your travelers
  • Your travel expenses (land only)
  • Our Travel Design fees

Additionally, some CGA leaders choose to add on their own markup/profit to cover their travel expenses (international flights, meals while en route, etc.) and their time. That's completely up to you.

+ How long do most CGAs last?

While the minimum trip length is 7D/6N, most of the retreats we plan end up being closer to 9D/8N (or longer).

+ Where can I run my CGA?

We work with accommodation providers, lodges, and partners around the world, so use your imagination and creativity! Whether you want to run a week-long yoga retreat in Costa Rica or an 10-day hiking adventure in Patagonia, we have you covered. Some of our more popular destinations include:

+ What is a 'typical' day on a CGA look like?

While every CGA is different, your days may look something like this:

  • 7am: Yoga/Meditation (optional)
  • 8am: Breakfast
  • 9am: Group Gathering
  • 10am: Adventure/Activity + Lunch
  • 3pm: Return to your accommodation for free time
  • 5pm: Another Group Gathering (or Happy Hour)
  • 7pm: Group Dinner

+ How far in advance should I start working with you on my CGA?

We prefer to begin working with you at least 6 months (and ideally 12) before the retreat. This gives us time to work our magic and craft an incredible itinerary for you ... and gives you enough time to market, sell, and fill the experience!

+ I've never run a group experience before … Can you help me design the program?

YES! Planning a CGA can be daunting, so we are happy to work with you to show you exactly how to create the optimal experience for your participants from start to finish, and help you feel fully prepared to rock your adventure!

+ Do you offer on-trip support?

We are happy to offer on-program support from experienced Explorer X staff. Running a retreat is incredible, but it also takes a lot of physical and mental energy! Hiring Explorer X staff members to accompany you on the retreat to essentially act as your retreat manager / logistics coordinator allows you to focus on delivering the amazing content and working with clients! Pricing for these services varies but will always include all travel and program expenses for the Explorer X staff member as well as a daily rate for their time and services. + Who is responsible for filling my CGA?

You are responsible for filling the CGA. Having said that, we are happy to do what we can to share the program via our various channels (our website, newsletters, email, social media, etc.).

+ What happens if the CGA doesn’t fill?

If the CGA does not fill, you will still be charged the initial non-refundable retreat planning fee ($5000). You may also be responsible for any deposits required by our partners for things like hotels. Most of these are refundable, but not always.

+ OK, I'm IN! How does this process work?

Planning your Custom Group Adventure with Explorer X is simple …

  • Give us a call (or click the link below to access our online form) to learn more.
  • We’ll start this process at least 6 months (ideally 12 months) before the retreat.
  • We’ll hop on a phone or video call to ID your vision and goals for the retreat and brainstorm locations.
  • Our team will get to work on designing and planning your customized retreat.
  • Once we finalize the retreat arrangements, you market and sell to fill the spots!
  • You deliver a life-changing program for your clients!
